Remove the pulley covers from the top of the deck ... curtis, when i pull the knob to engage the blade the engine dies as well, i guess this is normal with this problem... Yes, safety circuit is not complete! Put seat switch back, if you have not already. Aug 9, 2019 · The usual symptoms of excessive clutch air gap are 1) Won't engage at all. 2) Engages slowly (no distinct clunk) 3) Won't stay engaged under a load (less than 1 minute). Most older Craftsman ran Ogura clutches and they are proud of them. I've become a fan of Extreme Clutches. Really well designed and durable clutches. He paid a fortune having to buy right at season start too (like $1600 and change). I told him he needed to level it properly, not sure he ever did.
